Who We Are

Born in a programmer's basement over donuts, the idea of JobsInME.com began as a free, local job board that provided a greatly needed service to Maine's employers and its job seekers. Easy-to-use and useful web tools drew a considerable amount of traffic to the site, catching the eyes and ears of investors.

In 1999, armed with a president, a board of directors, and a hard-working handful of employees and contractors, the JobsInTheUS.com (JiUS) start-up was launched. Within a few years, its products began taking the recruiting industry by storm, growing into five New England states with plans to expand further.

Today, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Journal Register Company, JobsInTheUS.com is one of the fastest-growing local job Internet sites - both in terms of unique visits to the Web sites and jobs posted. Headquartered in Westbrook, Maine, we specialize in state-specific job Internet sites where qualified candidates who want to work in a particular region find a match with local employers - all at a lower cost for employers than other recruiting methods.

Our "Career Connection" Newsletter was awared the Bronze Award from the League of American Communications Professionals for excellence in development.
