HemaCare Corporation, founded in 1978, and its subsidiary, Coral Blood Services, provides blood products and services to over 160 hospitals in Southern California and the East Coast. It is publicly held, licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

Since its inception, HemaCare/Coral Blood Services has produced over 110,000 single donor platelet/pheresis blood products and has performed over 50,000 therapeutic apheresis treatments.
