The Business Development role will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities to drive company growth. A successful candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and an exceptional ability to foster and maintain relationships with clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Procure and identify quality construction opportunities through the development of strategic relationships with architects, developers, and owners.
· Maintain an updated database of current leads and potential projects. Review database weekly with executive management to ensure opportunities are not lost.
· Pursue leads at the direction of executive management.
· Collaborate, manage, and direct the company’s response to RFP’s and bid proposals, including prepare and participate in interview phases.
· Effectively engage in community business activities such as MEREDA and develop relationships with potential customers including Economic Development professionals, local Chambers of Commerce, MSHA and other pertinent organizations.
· Develop and maintain marketing efforts through print, internet, tradeshows, and exhibits.
· Estimating and Project Management are not part of this job description; however, providing support to these positions on occasion is a part of this job at the direction of executive management.
Requirements
++QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED ++
- Strong communication, leadership, time management and organizational skills.
- Capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capable of leading preconstruction and design build efforts including scope reviews, price negotiations, value engineering suggestions, etc.
- Proven experience in the regional construction area, with a solid understanding of construction processes and project requirements preferred.
++SKILLS REQUIRED:++
- Effective computer skills: Microsoft Office Software, Timberline Estimating, Outlook, and the ability to learn Industry specific software applications.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
- Developing analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Travel occasionally throughout the state of Maine and New Hampshire
