Description
Setup and operate CNC Lathes to effectively produce parts within manufacturing specification within allotted time standards with minimal supervision in a fast-paced job shop environment.
Areas of Responsibility
· Performs operation of assigned CNC Lathes
· Performs preventative maintenance and diagnostics on the CNC Lathes as needed and required
· Reports all deviations in proper machine performance
· Advises and consults with direct supervisor and or shop supervisor for tools and tooling needed
· Maintains fixtures and set-ups for use in specified projects as assigned
· Inspects and documents all operations per procedure
· Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed.
· Intuitively understand capabilities of tooling and machinery
· Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections
· Must be able to set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring
· Create and maintain a team focused work environment
· Work with Gantry robots and collaborative robots for production products
Requirements
Skills, Experience & Education
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 5 + years experience in setup and operation of CNC machines
· Proficient knowledge of G&M Codes with the ability to make program edits at the machine
· Must be able to read and interpret customer drawings with an understanding of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerances per ANSI Y-14.5
· Skills in inspection of work produced using precision measuring equipment to include:
o Micrometers, bore gauges, dial calipers or other measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
o Maintain tolerances as close as 0.0001’’
· Experience working in an ISO-9001 or AS9100 Quality Environment is desired
· Strong computer skills
· Follow other job-related instructions and perform other job related tasks as required.
