If yes, you could be the candidate we are looking for to be the next College Success Specialist at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland, ME.

This position is a full-time employee of JMG and will work with students connected with Southern Maine Community College. This role will collaborate closely with College admissions and the student support office and collaborate and communicate frequently with JMG High School programs and other College Success Specialists to facilitate pathway decisions for youth. The role of the Specialist includes support toward degree attainment, credential attainment, and job training and advancement for each student. This position will require leveraging the resources of the business community and post-secondary education resources to support students as they navigate pathways.

This is a year-round, full-time, salaried position, with a flexible schedule in June & July (one day a week on campus requirement during these months).

The start date for this position is ASAP

Compensation for this position is $43,000

Paid time off includes 15 vacation days, plus 15 more vacation days based on the SMCC College calendar, 3 weeks of sick time, 2 personal days, and 1 week of Covid time if needed

Requirements

Specific Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Successful candidates will have two+ years of experience working with students who face barriers to success in education; ability to communicate effectively with youth, adults, and members of the community; ability to analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans and strategies; knowledge of and the ability to analyze data. Must have Maine CHRC or the ability to obtain CHRC clearance promptly.
