We are seeking a Housekeeping Manager to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of Housekeeping and Laundry Services, to ensure that the facility is maintained as a clean, safe, attractive, and comfortable place in which to live and work.

Housekeeping Manager Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with regulatory and accreditation agencies to ensure that MVH - Bangor's Housekeeping and Laundry Services achieves and maintains compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and accreditation requirements.
  • Promptly and appropriately responds to resident, resident's family and staffs' requests and needs regarding Housekeeping and Laundry Services.
  • Fosters growth of Housekeeping and Laundry Services staff through on-going training programs. Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner and recommends merit/bonus awards.
  • Ensures that Housekeeping and Laundry Services staff are competent and act safely in their performance and practice within the scope of job descriptions.
  • Performs other duties required to maintain the integrity of the home and Housekeeping and Laundry Services department.

Experience and Skills

Housekeeping Manager Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of four years previous experience in institutional housekeeping and laundry work, including the Chemical Hazard Communications Program. Experience in a nursing home or health care environment strongly preferred. Supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to plan, organize and supervise a variety of housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Knowledgeable of the methods, practices, materials and equipment for housekeeping and laundry services.
  • Proven record of effective leadership and administrative skills, and ability to develop, organize and direct staff to provi de quality services.
  • Ability to manage a budget in order to ensure no discrepancies between actual and budgeted costs.
