About Us

Founded in 1965, Community Concepts, Inc. is a Community Action Agency and a 501c (3) non-profit

organization whose mission is to provide leadership, education and financial resources to Maine residents to

help them meet immediate basic needs while providing families with assistance to help them move out of

poverty and become self-sufficient members of the community.

Community Concepts also fosters economic development in Maine through its subsidiary, Community

Concepts Finance Corporation (CCFC), a Community Development Financial Institution and a 501c (3)

non- profit organization, which provides loans and resources to help businesses and families grow and

thrive.

Community Concepts’ mission is to provide pathways to a healthy life for and with those most impacted by inequities in Western Maine through programs, partnerships, and advocacy.
