Community Concepts, a Maine non-profit that provides resources to people of low income to help them move forward, is excited for a new opportunity to hire for a Staff Accountant to work with the Finance department in our Lewiston office. We are looking for a team player with accounting experience to join our team. The Staff Accountant will work for and in partnership with the Financial Controller. This position will support the Finance Department by preparing month end journal entries, balance sheet general ledger reconciliation, preparing and entering accounts receivable invoices, monthly billings, maintaining documentation for annual audit, aiding with budget preparation, and more. This is a full-time position, based out of our Lewiston office but primarily works from home. 

*To Qualify: *Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; four to seven years of commensurate experience may be substituted for the college training. Experience in non-profit accounting and OMB knowledge is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; Knowledge of MIP accounting software is preferred. Must have willingness to accept the challenge of a fast pace; ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision; keep accurate, neat records; adapt to changing State and Federal regulations; and actively participate in the creative changes which occur.   Pre-employment SBI, DMV, DHHS, sex offender registry and federal debarment background checks.   Must have and maintain a valid Maine driver’s license and a vehicle covered by liability insurance; must have a telephone.
